  Round, green, and sweet: Vitamins in the peel, Crunchy yet soft inside, And seeds of life in the core.   Seeds were planted one planting season. Decorative rocks surrounded the saplings: Didn’t want anyone to mistake them… For weeds—they are more valuable than…   Money, for we can at least eat fruit. The time has come to sure up our resources… For winter—an apple is wonderful by the fire— Warm and sweet: you and I retreat.
