Golden You A poem by Charles Anthony Hood

I want you to know…

I love you more than anything.

The first time…

I saw you—walking on the ledge,

I told myself…

That if you fell,

Angels from heaven

Would catch you.

I see you now,

As radiant as ever—

Beautiful skin and hair.

When we touch,

The electricity from you

Sends Morse code down my spine.

The message is L.O.V.E.

You are a spark!

Before you,

I existed as a worm,

Crawling through the mud.

No flowers—

No smiles—

No coffee together—

You say I am clingy…

Maybe.

But you are too nice,

And I want to protect you.

This world is…

Hard,

Unsympathetic, and…

Unforgiving.

One mistake can crush…

The soul of a man.

Our gay love,

No longer a secret

Whispered in the closet.

Our flag is planted,

A rainbow shimmering in the sun;

We proudly declare—

“Love is love!”

And we feel!

Homosexuality—

A history recorded.

They said Gay people were…

Abnormal,

An Abomination,

And disgusting,

But living without love…

Never an option.

Our love started…

Explosively!

Of all possible partners,

I got gold.

Shimmer!

Together we shine…

Like new coins,

And you are golden!

 Did You Know?

Homosexual behavior has been observed in a wide variety of species in the animal kingdom, demonstrating that it is not a phenomenon exclusive to humans. From bonobos and dolphins to many bird species, same-sex interactions can include everything from courtship behaviors and pair bonding to parenting and cooperative breeding. This underscores that homosexual behavior can serve various social, reproductive, and bonding purposes within animal communities.

In bonobos, for instance, sexual interactions between same-sex individuals are a fundamental part of their social structure. These interactions help to reduce tension and strengthen social bonds within the group. Similarly, in species like dolphins, homosexual behavior is prevalent and has been linked to establishing social hierarchies and alliances.

Beyond mammals, numerous bird species engage in same-sex pair bonding. For example, in species like the black swan, same-sex pairs have been observed raising young together, demonstrating that homosexual pairings can fulfill parental roles just as effectively as heterosexual ones. This suggests that the capacity for homosexual behavior may have adaptive benefits that enhance social cohesion and collaborative behavior within species.

The implications for human behavior are multifaceted. The existence of homosexual behavior in nature supports the understanding that sexual orientation can exist along a spectrum rather than strictly as binary. This challenges traditional views of sexuality as a purely social construct and suggests that biological and evolutionary factors play a significant role in shaping sexual orientation.

Moreover, observing these natural behaviors can help normalize and validate the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals in human societies, providing a broader context for understanding sexual diversity. The recognition that same-sex behavior contributes to the social fabric in various species can support arguments for acceptance and rights within human contexts.

Cultural attitudes toward homosexuality have historically varied widely, often influenced by social, religious, and political factors. The natural occurrence of homosexual behaviors in animals can serve as a powerful counter-narrative to stigmas and misconceptions surrounding non-heteronormative sexualities. It emphasizes that diversity in sexual expression is a natural part of life, potentially leading to more inclusive perspectives on human sexual orientation.

As more research emerges on the biological, psychological, and sociocultural dimensions of homosexuality, it is likely to further inform views on human relationships, identity, and the fundamental understanding of love and attraction. Each of these insights contributes to a more nuanced view of human sexuality that respects and acknowledges the diversity of human experiences, much like the diversity found in the animal kingdom.

Tell me about “The Gray Man” concept.

The Gray Man concept originates from various contexts, including military, survival, and social interactions. It generally refers to the idea of blending in or remaining unnoticed in a crowd or environment. This strategy can be particularly useful for individuals seeking to avoid drawing attention to themselves, whether for safety, privacy, or tactical reasons. In military terms, the Gray Man concept emphasizes the importance of camouflage and stealth. Soldiers or operatives may adopt attire and behavior that allows them to blend into their surroundings, minimizing the risk of detection by the enemy. This can involve wearing neutral colors, adopting local customs, and behaving in a manner that seems typical for the environment, thereby reducing the likelihood of being singled out. In survival scenarios, the Gray Man approach can also be applied. People may choose to dress in a way that does not attract attention, especially in situations where they might be perceived as vulnerable or ...

Tell me about the 7 principles of the Unitarian Universalist Church.

The Unitarian Universalist (UU) Church is founded on a set of principles that guide its members in their spiritual and ethical lives. These principles reflect a commitment to individual exploration and the shared pursuit of justice, compassion, and understanding. The principles, often shared in congregations, are not hierarchical but interdependent, affirming the importance of each in the life of a community. The first principle emphasizes the inherent worth and dignity of every person. This principle values every human being, recognizing that all individuals deserve respect and justice, fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated. It encourages members to advocate for those whose rights are often overlooked and to acknowledge the unique perspectives each person brings to the community. The second principle emphasizes justice, equity, and compassion in human relations. It encourages individuals to act with fairness and empathy, recognizing the interconnectedness o...

Dear Followers…

Hello everyone,  I appreciate all the likes, comments, and follows, etc. I am grateful for all who’ve decided to respond to my character “Charlie Donut.” He is a kind, simple man who doesn’t always understand reality.  He loves to talk about his dreams. It has been a great joy for me to play “Charlie Donut” and write my content. When I started playing “Charlie Donut,” I thought no one would notice me amongst the millions of other artists creating things. I figured I would just create something and see what happens. To my surprise, I started gaining a small following. It is still small, and I think that is OK. I have some plans coming up for Charlie Donut. I am thankful for social media as a creative outlet. The followers who watch and comment are wonderful. Sometimes, I get insulting comments, but I don’t take them personally because those people are insulting my character. Anyway, I started my social media career with little expectation of response or success. I want to crea...
